3rd Annual Nashville Street Food Month

3rd Annual Nashville Street Food Month
5.1.15
The Nashville Food Truck Association will celebrate its third annual Nashville Street Food Month, announced Dallas Shaw, NFTA president. Officially running through the entire month of May, the kickoff will take place at “Street Food Thursdays,” April 30, where 18 trucks will serve lunch on Deaderick Street in downtown Nashville. With more than 50 active members, the NFTA will promote all events through the month of May that have at least two member trucks present.
Mayor Karl Dean will make remarks at April 30’s “Street Food Thursdays” at 12:30 p.m.
“I’ve been asked when the food truck trend will slow down in Nashville,” said Shaw. “The NFTA is in its fourth year, this is our third annual Nashville Street Food Month, and we have 50 active members – more than we’ve ever had. I suppose the word ‘trend’ isn’t accurate. We are thriving. Members of Metro Nashville government have been instrumental paving the way for a food truck culture in Nashville, and we are so thankful to Mayor Dean for being there to celebrate with us once again.”
All members of the NFTA will donate a portion of proceeds from May sales to two Nashville-based charities that have been longtime event partners: Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee and Musicians Corner Nashville. The NFTA will collect all member donations and present a donation at the conclusion of Nashville Street Food Month.
“We owe a lot to these partner charities for including food trucks in their plans since the beginning,” said Shaw. “Nashville Street Food Month kicks off May 1, and our members will be serving every single day all month, so get out there and support both street food and these incredible local charities.”
The NFTA will continue to promote daily events on Facebook and Twitter throughout the month of May. Truck schedules are subject to change; check social media and the NFTA app for updates.
The current members of NFTA include Arti’s Food Truck, Bacon Nation, Bao Down, Bare Naked Bagel, Blue Monkey Shaved Ice, Bradley’s Curbside Creamery, Bruster’s Ice Cream, Chapmans, Confeastador, Crankee’s Pizzeria, Crepe A Diem, Dan’s Gourmet Mac Attack, Dawg Daze, Deg Thai, Delta Bound, Electric Sliders, Food Dudes, Four & Twenty Blackbirds, Franklin Juice Co., Gee Ma’s, Hickory Bones BBQ, Hoss’ Loaded Burgers, Itty Bitty Donuts, Jay’s Chicago, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream, Jones Press, Julia’s Sweets Truck, King Tut’s, Lil Choo Choo BBQ, Little Cancun, Little Italian, Maggie Moos, Moovers and Shakers, Music City Pie Co, Music City Rice & Roll, Pig N Pit, Pita Pit, Playa Linda, Retro Sno, Riddim N’ Spice, Riffs Fine Street Food, Smoke Et Al, Smokin’ Thighs, Smoothie King, Steaming Goat, Street Provisions, The Grilled Cheeserie, The Mobile Chef, The Rolling Feast, The Waffle Boss, Tiger Meat, and Yayo’s OMG.
